I'm trying to track down a Franchi 48AL in 28 gauge or possibly 20 gauge. Do you guys know of any dealers that stock them?
Thanks
Re-think the 28 guage unless you're reloading. Isn't exactly easy to come by. Not impossible though.
Cabela's carries Franchi. Stoeger is the Canadian distributor(10 second net search). nmanioudakis@stoegercanada.ca..
Handled the Franchi 48 pump. 28 gauge at ShotShow , by far the best looking, handling 28ga pump at the whole show!
Very fast , best pointing pump of all times!
Don't hold your breath for Stoeger to bring you your pump, have Clay at Prophet River order it , only way to get it with the year, as Stoeger is a year wait for Franchi O/U shotgun that my friends shop ordered ?
Good luck, the 28 is the best sub gauge round!

Franchi Pump? I've owned and currently own many Franchi's and I've never come across a pump shotgun made by Franchi. As for the 48AL, it has always been a long recoil action semi-auto. The only Franchi pumps I know of are the combat SPAS-12 and SPAS-15, both of which have both semi and pump capabilities, and both of which are prohibited in Canada. If someone can prove me wrong, please do so as I wouldn't mind adding another Franchi to the collection. But I suspect this was posted in error.
Could be the fellow who posted about a 28 gauge Franchi pump has the 28 gauge Franchi 48AL auto loader confused for a pump.
Franchi did sell a pump action shotgun that was very similar looking to the police/military models you listed. The early versions had that same flip up safety that was recalled as well. They made a "combat" version as well as field versions that could be bought with or without external chokes.
Edit: The "combat" version of the pump action was the SAS-12...I'm not sure what the field models were called though.
Edit: Here's a pic of the SPAS-15, SPAS-12, SAS-12...none have any parts in common with the 48AL semi-autos though.
