Has anyone purchased on of these shotguns yet?

Looking at a new shotgun for upland and am trying to decide between the Franchi Instinct SL and the CZ Redhead. Im leaning more towards the Franchi but am hoping to find a place in Southern Alberta that sells these guns so I can shoulder them before I purchase one.

The Franchi gets rave reviews online and from any of the guys I've spoken to about them at gun shops. I tried to find one in Southern Ontario to shoulder and get a feel for. None to be found. SAIL shows them in their catalog and the guy behind the counter says that when they get one in, its gone in a day or two. I called around and could not find any at shops within a long drive of where i live. I ended up buying a Browning. I think there was one on EE a couple weeks ago.

A good friend of mine has one and has been using it all season no problems. His only complaint is the safety feels a little gritty at first but has smoothned out. When I first handled it I was amazed at how cheap they where selling them for the nice fit and finish way more quality then the cz hugle doubles.

I have the Renaissance which is the precursor of the SL and enjoy it. I love the lightweight and it is a very good field gun. The mechanicals are not as smooth as the B guns but mine smoothed out after a flat of target loads. There have been concerns expressed over the longevity of the aluminum alloy frame for clays but I have never heard of anyone first hand who has worn one out hunting it and using it for informal clays.

I handled a 12 x 28" SL at LeBarons this year. Very light and lively gun. If you do alot of walking then this gun is a sweet one. Fit and finish is actually not too bad considering the price point. No it isn't anywhere what a Browning or Beretta is but then again it's half the money. Would I buy this as a sporting clays gun? No. Too light for heavy high count shooting and likely won't hold up to that. For hunting though it's a nice gun.

If you go hunting with it twice a year, I guess it'll do. But for clay games, not so much.
1. Action is too tight, even after 1000 of rounds
2. Safety is automatic, which is a killer!
