Hi everyone,

Looking at buying my first shotgun. Looking at either the Franchi intensity
Or the Stoeger M3500.
Any thoughts and opinions would be much appreciated.

Thnx in advance folks.

I'd go with the Franchi over the Stoeger. The Franchi is a quality firearm and one of the best bang for the buck offerings available. While the Inertia Driven guns have many positives, reduced recoil is not one of them. You'll have more felt recoil on an ID gun then a gas operated autoloader. Likely it wont be a significant issue using the 2 3/4" or 3" loads, but if you are shooting 3.5" shells, it may be something you want to consider

have an O/U Instinct and best O/U I have. Shot my first 25/25 with it. But I bought it for hunting mostly. Best bang for the buck for an O/U. The Intensity semi is very nice.

I love this gun.

I think a lot of it is fit. It would be quite a kicker with 3.5 inch shells though, very light.

Not anymore. With retail prices now hovering around $2000, its no longer a best bang for the buck o/u. There are many better options for roughly the same amount, especially in the used gun market. They were great when they were priced between $1000-$1200, but those days are long gone!

Bringing this back,

I fondled an affinity and an intensity today and all I can say is wow.

I then fondled an SBE II to get a feel for both.

IMO not as refined as the SBE II but felt way better in my hands when pointing and fitting, the SBE II fore stock just felt like crap to me and don't like the molded in grip.

Unfortunately these guns and the benelli's aren't finished as nice as the Belgium FN guns like winchester and browning but they fit me way better and I will be getting one as my waterfowl gun in place of my SX3.
