Hello all, I am wondering about adding a tube extension onto my franchi intensity so it can be my goose gun and fun gun as well when im not hunting. My question is: because it says my gun can shoot 3 1/2 inch shells can i put an extension that would fit 5, 3 1/2 shells on it? Or only 5 2 3/4?
Also if anyone would happen to know if the franchi extensions are the same as the benelli m2? Or the supernova? Ive read both online.

Thanks verymuch.

My understanding is 5 shells of the size the gun was manufactured to shoot. I would interpret that as 5 of the largest size the gun will shoot (in your case 3 1/2)

You can have 5 of the largest shells your gun is chambered for in your magazine - as long as it doesn’t fit 6, 3.5” shells your good. I put a +5 tube extension on then made a plug so I could only fit 5.75 shells in the tube. The advantage with putting on a longer tube extension is easier deuce/quad loading as the mag spring isn’t as compressed as a +2 extension. Also if you shoot south of the boarder, you can use the full extension capacity. Looks like the Franchi takes the same thread pattern as the Stoeger M2000. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/5...nity-i-12-stoeger-2000-12-gauge-4-round-matte

I used a 5/8" wood dowel, then tapered the shell end a bit so the spring doesn't catch on the squared edge of the dowel. I used the factory plastic follower that came with my gun and it fit tight on the other end of the dowel (this help to center the dowel), then used a wood screw from the outside of the end cap of the extension to go through the follower and wood dowel (I bought a nordic low drag follower as recommended to replace the oem follower). The wood dowel works good because you can easily cut it to whatever you need to get the capacity your looking for and it's cheap.
