I'm not a gunsmith. I do have a weakness for rimfires though. Seems odd that both suffer... Have you tried a few different kinds of ammo? I love my 'ol 64, but it is a fussy eater! Two things bring it to it's knees...fouling (either dirty, or oiled action after cleaning), and an ammo it doesn't like. It loves round nosed ammo.
