My Renaissance had an occasional ejection of an unfired shell , usually when the top barrel was fired first. I traced the problem to the ejector cams in the fore end and found they were moving under recoil triggering ejection without ejector rod being deployed. Damping grease applied to the cams helped but did not completely eliminate the problem. I removed the cam by tapping out the retainer pin on the fore end iron and found a small spring that pushes against the walls the cam is located in. The spring looked tired so I stretched it .03" and heat treated it out it together and it did the trick , I repeated for the other side and now it functions properly. It seems a poorly engineered system but it's working again for now. Numrich arms has a schematic the shows the parts I described as I didn't think to take pictures while doing the work. (Found some pictures my wife took while I was taking a break, she's a good woman)

Here's the cam pin and spring
