Frangable 9mm

That'd be frangible. Don't think it's available here. Try these guys. No idea if they sell to the public though. Add the W's.

You don't really want to be close to steel targets anyway. Buddy of mine took a slice of lead bullet to his forehead practicing for Second Chance from 7 yards, long ago. Didn't penetrate his skull, but it just missed his glasses and stuck in the hide of his head.

That is kind of the point of why he is looking for some frangible ammunition, you know, so that doesn't happen.

And it is available here, just not very popular for the extra price and specific role.

Last stuff I bought was a few years ago from TSE.

Critter... you nailed it lol
Had an experience with 7.62x39 at over 100 yards. Kind of sounded like a hummingbird at first. Round caught a divit in a mild steel plate and came right back to me. Passed maybe 5 yards beside me, had to change my pants, swore never again.
Something about playing with pistol calibres and multiple plates at close range sets me off though ;)
If i could find 9mm .223 and 7.62x39 in frangable for CBQ multitarget it would be well worth the fun of NOT eating lead!

Damn, I got excited there for a sec. Too bad they have a jacket else I'd pickup a few boxes. Unfortunately the indoor range only allows non-jacketed frangibles. Almost impossible to buy here.

Sorry about that :). I just saw the magical "frangible" ammo but didn't realize there was a difference.

Target sports? If so the Remington boxes I've seen them sell clearly show a jacketed frangible bullet. I've yet to ask about it.

I have boxes of .40 but thats not much help.
They do break up on steel but hold together like a fmj if you hit wood or similar. If they can penetrate the target they hold together very well.

Winchester Ranger. A former co-worker shot IPSC back in the day with lots of OPP friends and he said they supplied he with all of it. I got 1000rnds of him at $15/50 and he still had several 1000 more. One day he just quit and so ended my cheap ammo supply.
I have some in 105 & 135gr

Now i reload...
