I was looking into heading out to Frank Lake once things get a little colder to scout for some ducks etc. Just wondering if any other guys here know anything about the lake, such as any restrictions posed by DU? Just wondering if there are any other guys or gals interested this year. Maybe we could get something together and head out.

I used to hunt Frank Lake (pretty sure you still can), But I prefer the river. I have a sweet spot east of town... :)

It's pretty crowded most weekends... I don't like hunting with a ton of other people, especially when you run into retards that have NO idea about gun safety. I'd prefer to keep my face free of pellet holes.

Frank Lake is a fantastic place for ducks. There are many Ducks Unlimited point of entry around the lake. All you have to do is get out there and start banging. I'm also waiting for the cooler weather. I know the lake quite well, 22 years I hunted ducks there. Just watch where they fly along the weed-beds and then set up..................don't forget your waders!

I defer to your obviously superior knowledge of the lake. :) VERY much agree about the waders... if you don't have any, don't bother going! Not a lot of good shooting spots on dry ground (that I found).

Maybe I just don't know all the good spots, but I never had much luck there. But on a REAL cold day, it IS nice an warm wading right near the effluent outlet. ;)

Thanks very much gentleman. I have waders and am not shy to use them. I will definitely be heading out when colder weather comes, so maybe I will see you out there Track! Is all access to the lake private access only?
