I have been searching for high cap 7.62x39 mags for my xcr for a while now with no luck but I keep hearing about frankenmags and people converting ak mags to work in a ar platform does anyone have any experience with these?

Don't think they are actually converting AK mags into AR mags, since the AK mag is curved from beginning to end, so they wouldn't be able to fit into the AR straight mag well. If you really want the long mags call Wolverine supplies and see if they can do a special order for you, chances are it won't be cheap but it will still be way cheaper than buying AK mags at $90 a pop.

What do you consider "high cap"? Not to be a ####, but it's already illegal for most, if not all, of us to even own standard cap mags. (That and I airsoft, so when somebody said "high cap mag" I think of those wind up 300BBs/mag AR-15 mags.) If you mean 10 round 7.62x39 mags, Wolverine has them in stock, then you could try to add the GSD LAR extenders to make them 10/30 7.62x39 AR-15 mags.

I was looking for pinned hi cap mags just to clarify I have a bunch of 10 round pistol mags but looking for a couple pinned 20-30 rounders for the look and feel

Sorry to interject, but you want "pinned regular capacity magazines". High capacity mags are basically drum mags that are also pinned.

Let's not give the anti's more ammunition by using their words.
