Just curious if anyone has run this new model yet? Looking at getting an electronic dispenser without spending a fortune. Currently using an rcbs Uniflow set to just under my desired charge. I then use my rcbs rangemaster 2000 and trickle to the desired number. Looking for something a bit quicker.
 
I had a V1 and it had issues, with no support from FA.
Certain keys stopped working, work around was to use the bluetooth app. Eventually the motor burnt up.
I replaced it with a Hornady and it is a much better performing unit. I advise spend a few bucks more and be better off.

Seems like the original versions were 50/50 on how well they worked and how long they lasted. Apparently..... FA has fixed these issues with the 2.0. Problem is, no one is wanting to try these out. I cannot find any reviews online.
 
I just got a v2 as a replacement for a v1 that I swapped at cabelas. Only had the v1 for a few weeks and the motor was already starting to go. The v2 seems good so far. Not quite as fast as the v1 but seems to throw consistent charges. Much nicer to level than the v1.
 
Not sure which version of Intelidroper I have ( had it for over 4 yrs). I like it. much better than my old Lyman DPS 3.
Like Gimp, I wanted a Hornady but the Intelidroper was almost 1/2 price to the Hornady and now, I am very satisfied with the F A offering.
I ask it to drop from 2.9 gr of pistol powder to 47 gr of IMR stick powder and can count on one hand how many re-pours Ive had in those 4 yrs ( aprox 8-900 rounds per yr).
I think the best feature it has is the "powder calibration " algorithm built into it...helps immensely when changing from powder type to type.
 
Update for anyone interested. I purchased the intellidropper 2.0 in November. It was pretty good at first. Threw decently accurate charges, interface is excellent really no issues to speak of. I then started to notice my sd/ES start to climb and act very erratic. I compared the charges from the intellidropper on another scale and found that if I left the unit on auto, if would climb about 0.1 grain per drop. A setting of 43.5 grains would be at 44 after 5 drops. It seems it would get to around 1 grain off and the move around between the initial charge weight up to 1 grain.

I contacted Frankford arsenal and they have requested that I smash the current unit beyond repair and they would send out a new one. They are currently on back order as they are all going back through QA. Based on my findings online, this seems like a very common issue. The only way around it is to take the until off auto and hit the zero button before each drop. I'll be smashing the unit today and waiting for my new one, so I can sell it and move on.

Now to just bite the bullet and order the auto trickler v4....... Like I should have done from the start.

Lmao! Yeah hopefully. The ultimate reloader does a review of the 2.0, he shows the scale is 2 grains off at like 65 grain charge. Apparently that's okay though as it's consistentšŸ˜‚.

The autotrickler v4 package is sold out but I sent them an email already to get in line. The auto trickler seems to be absolutely amazing. Much better warranty too.

Yup, pretty good unit. Another option to look at is the Ingenuity Precision unit. Back-ordered as well. I have their first generation of powder meter on an Autotrickler V3. Works great, but I'm on the list for their new system. Not sure if I'll take it though....

For a long, long time. Several years, although it looks like it may actually start shipping in the next few weeks.

An alternative that just works, no fine tuning possible or necessary, if you're using stick powders would be the PP Trickler. And something call the Meehl which is a more integrated version of the PPT.

For that matter the RCBS Matchmaster is great, it's just slow - ~30s for a 35gr throw out of the box, although I'm told with tuning you can get that under 10 seconds. if you're not in a hurry, it's cost-effective and accurate.

Looks like some cool accessories..... If they are actually needed.

I have zero interest in the matchmaster. Lots of reported issues with it and its only got a 1 year warranty. The autotrickler has a two year warranty and the A&d fx120I scale has a 4 year warranty. Also, it being seperate pieces makes replacement after warranty a lot more cost effective. From what I gather, the guy who makes the autotrickler is incredibly receptive and usually helps with parts outside of the warranty period if needed. The autotrickler v4 and scale is about $1500,so is the matchmaster.

That's always the question, right? Are all the problems and 'fixes' (like wedges or screws to adjust the angle for different powders) real, or just the internet amplification effect? I'm leaning towards the former, as some people I respect have struggled.
Anyway, I'm quite pleased with my PPT, it just works. But I did make a small compromise by switching away from a ball powder.

Speaking only to what I have researched so far. It seems like you can 100% just set the machine up (autotrickler) as is and it will run fine. If you want to increase speed you might have to fine tune it a bit for the powder you are throwing. Without adjusting the angle a bit, you might see a bit of fluctuation in drop charge (like 0.01-0.02 grains). Really depends how deep you want to go down the rabbit hole lol. I like the fact the trickler is made in Canada and seems to be incredibly well made. I guess I will soon find out šŸ˜€.

Does the ppt struggle with ball powder? I use ball powder for bulk stuff and stick for precision.

It's marketed for stick powder. Ball powders tend to get between the disk and cup and jam things up. At least for now, I think a slightly different disk would resolve this. Also, there's a guy who has shimmed his with painters tape to get a tighter fit between disk and cup and now it's fine for ball powders. For me, I'm past fussing with stuff. If it works, great. If not, I'll adapt but not bring out the painters tape.
