I've been contemplating purchasing one. I've read the reviews and got the usual "love 'em-hate 'em" split. The major complaint seems to be a soft cutter that fails after a few brass are trimmed and wobbly accessory shafts. From people who actually own and use one-how bad is the cutter and how bad are the accessory shafts.
Thanks

I fine my primer pocket cleaner is a little wobbly but still does a good job. Only trimmed about 400 pieces of .308 brass and the cutter still works fine. Overall I consider it a good purchase. Saves you tons of time and possible arthritis from doing each step manually

I've done about 1000 223 and 500 308 cases so far and the cutter is still sharp. The other accessories work perfectly, maybe I got one of the better ones.

Used mine a bit... mostly trimming 308 brass (223 uses the Dillon trimmer in the Dillon 650).

Works great thus far. Maybe trimmed 300 pieces of brass with it. Consistent and quick at least.

Can you screw in other attachments? I've been contemplating a powered unit, I currently have the Lyman hand tool set and if I could unscrew the tool heads of my current set and use them in the frankford that would be ideal

I have used mine for 308 and 5.56 military brass. It works great. I use the accessories from my Lyman case prep kit. The threads are the same. The pocket uniform tool works great on this machine. I interchange it with the pocket cleaner. It sure saves a lot of time. Setting up the cutting depth takes a bit of getting used to.

I too am trying to figure out what to get. I was just downstairs, have a rather large batch of military brass sitting in front of me ready to be prepped, and after the 1st few, I realized I'd be there all night. It's been awhile since I did much reloading. I must have forgotten how long everything takes - resize and deprime, tumble clean, trim length, clean flash hole, debur, omg, too many steps to do them individually.
Anyone know where the Frankfurt arsenal one is available in SW Ontario? Are the alternatives that much above and beyond in terms of function?

Thanks

I should ask while I'm at it, are there any alternatives near the price of the FA? Or under the $300 mark?

I got mine from Dean at select shooting suppliers foc in Ajax has them as well

I got mine off of Amazon.ca Cheapest I could find them. Mine has worked great. I'm not sure about replacing the trimming function, but the other threads are standard, and swap with any other attachment without issue.

Thanks,
Cal.

I got mine from Cabela's in Barrie. Most happy. Been trimming .308 to .260 to .243 and then to .30-30 all using the same plastic "flange" guide thingy or doohickey. Most pleased and grateful everything works really well. Saves getting tennis elbow during the onerous case trimming process , especially for various different calibers! :)

Get one! Life's too short

Barney

I have had mine for about a year and a half. Used it to prep about 2000 .223 military brass; could not have imagined getting the primer pocket sized with out this machine. I also use to trim/prep 7mm Rem mag, 6XC and 30.06....great to have the versatility in the trimmer accessories to make a quick change from one size of brass to the next.
