Hi guys, just found Fred'sM14stocks website.

From what I understand, even tho Canadian customs don't care if we bring back firearms parts if the US stop you before the Canadian border you can get in trouble as they don't want anything exported...

So, is there any seller on the board here that has or would be willing to bring in some stuff from Fred? He does quantity discounts and with all the M305s we have up here I'm sure there's a market.

Prophet river or IRUNGUNS

You might be able to bring back a stock no problem but I don't know for sure. Check the itar regulations

All M-14 parts are restricted for export. As I recall, Fred has been dinged at least once by the U.S. government for exporting without the Stare Dept. permit too. Plus the cost of that permit, the current exchange rate plus the requirement for the manufacturer to have a Commerce Dept. exporter's licence will make anything from Fred very expensive.
And Fred doesn't export in the first place. His site says go to treelinem14.com.

Yeah I spoke to Fred and he doesn't ship accross the border but I thought maybe it could be done by a sponsor here.

I checked out treeline but we are far from Freds pricing, starting at 25-30 and up to 200+ depending on how picky you are, always including the buttplate too... Now I like history and wouldn't mind some minor battle scars but treeline has em at 139 minimum and no birch, only walnut, might as well go with a bnib boyd if I'm going in the 150+ IMO.

Remember a while ago, Fred said he in his ad, he was liquidating, was down to 25,000 stocks. :) Too bad we've been cut off from that source, luckily I got mine before the SHT, excellent merchadise and a pleasure to deal with.

Grizz

msg treeline even if there are none available at the moment. he will get you a real nice stock and will probably only cost you about $40 more than freds for an as-new stock.

When I check Treeline M-14's website(Nato code-name OutofStock) for a USGI wood stock it reminds me of looking at Marstar's site for years with the wood stocked M305 listed for $399.00, and being "OUT OF STOCK" for ever.

Kind of don't visit there anymore if thinking about stocks.

Was looking at the same places as you and ended up with a new Boyd's stock. Send you a picture however I don't do the fotobucket thing and have no idea how to post a picture here. If interested though, maybe send me a pm and I will email you some images.

cheers,

It is amazing how many dealers list stuff and it is out of stock. Why don't they take it down and just list the stuff
they have. It would make finding items easier.

LOL , or make a website that doesn't need tech support/web designer to make a simple change to an items status.
Brownells has no troubles in this dept. I like shopping there and wish they would open up a canadian branch.

As for buying stateside and bringing home?
I was told by a solid source that it is illegal for a non us citizen to buy and possess firearm related parts n bits while in the US. I don't know if this is true but I have heard it repeated many times. Also it is not legal to export or have exported, any item that is not export lisenced by the manufacturer. As far as fred's goes, it's been near a decade since fred stopped doing business with canadians.
Best option for good wood for these rifles is Boyd's, who are happy to deal with us canucks.
