Well I'm about to get a couple of synthetic M1A stocks from Fred's and I would like to ask those that ordered from him what's the duty on these?
Much thanks,

Technically, anything manufactured in North America should have NO duty. That's NAFTA at work. I'm pretty sure his stocks are made in the US...

You might need to pay GST and brokerage fees, but likely no doody.

goverment will tell you that when you call for your import permit.

No need for import permits since they are M1A stocks.
The M1A has yet to be classed as an assault weapon in the US.

NAFTA doesn't apply to anything firearm related. Duty, to protect an non-existent industry, will be collected. As will GST and PST, if there is such a thing where you are.
If Fred is shipping M-14 parts out of the U.S. as M1A parts, he's nuts. I believe it's a 100 grand fine and time as a guest in one of Uncle Sam's correctional facilities. You'll just risk losing the stock and your money.

when I ordered 3 stocks plus other EIS stuff I got it delivered to my door, NO Canadian duties/taxes required.

Doesnt mean that you wont get screwed and have to pay, but I didnt.

I've had two deliveries in the last 6 weeks, 3 stocks in total. Using Canada Post, I paid $5 handling fee, plus GST and PST on the Cdn $ equivalent of the order cost. No duty, as is correct.

bbb - not all gun parts require export permits.
And Commerce restrictions on scope mount components were just relaxed.

WRONG! NAFTA does apply to firearms and parts. Qualifed goods need only a NAFTA statement from the shipper if valued under $1600.00 But Customs hands you an unoffical "gimme" if through the postal service. Plus GST&PST(depending on your province, or if you are a business) and a postal handling fee. (Cheap) Friend don't let friends us UPS or FedEx. Permits required like BBB mentioned.

 Freds M14 Stocks I hope you dont need the stock anytime soon like in the next 3-5 yrs:eek: just a word of caution he is extremely slow on shipping to Canada like you might never recieve it

Freds

I have ordered Fred's book and stocks a couple years ago by phoning and giving visa #. Never got squat, although visa was never charged.

A Month ago I tried ordering a couple books from his website, I actually got a email reply from Fred saying some gibberish that something was wrong with the last 4 #s of my visa. I replied with the last 4 #s exactly as is on the card, and again have gotten squat, visa never charged.

I think Fred is very hit or miss, more like miss if you are from Canada. We just don't seem to be on his priority list as paying customers. If you catch him in a really good mood he might ship your order, however with the terrorist arrests in Canada now old Fred will likely be even more reluctant in helping us become riflemen.

Perhaps he has changed. My two orders over the last 2 mths were both delivered within 2 weeks.

Fred's M14 Stocks---Everything I've heard about Fred has been negative, so asside from dealing with customs you should be very concerned about your chances of even receiving what your ordering.

If you're leery about dealing with Freds you can always try Numrich Gun Parts.

They have fibreglass, walnut and hardwood M14 stocks and are very easy to deal with, prompt shipping. I can never keep track of what needs permits or not, but they will do it all for you (for a fee). They did all the work to import a Garand tanker kit for me.

I also received a beautiful M14 walnut stock that they rated as very good, but it was new with just some grime from storage. I don't recall any permits being required, it just arrived in the mail. But then again that was a while ago.
