Been reading a LOT and still - no definitive answer... go figure ha ha. I am wondering if anyone has had 'real' accuracy improvements by free floating (&/or glass bedding) a Ruger synthetic stock? It seems to be the right thing to do, but I've heard the opposite arguement too. I know Ruger says no, but I think thats just a warrenty thing.. I'm asking about a new Ruger M77 Hawkeye S/S. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

Free floated my ruger m77 in 30-06 and lost accuracy. I would not do it again. There is a designed amount of pressure on the barrel to stabilize it.I did not glass bed it.Rifle was a stainless synthetic. To fix my screw up i installed it into a boyds stock and glass bedded it.It shoots good now.Hand loading for these rifles is probably the best accuracy improver.
