I'm trying to find the answer via Google, but the keywords bring up too much irrelevant information. Can anybody chime in with some first-hand experience? I'd like to know if a free float handguard such as the ones offered by Daniel Defence, Midwest Industries, Troy Industries can be installed on a barrel with the step down in it.
Essentially, I'm looking at installing the DD MFR on an Armalite M15A4 which has a 16" barrel and the small standard handguard. My concern is, by installing the 12 inch handguard, will I still be able to install the gas block or will the step down give me some trouble?
