I have just purchased a Tikka T3 Light Stainless in 22-250, it shoots quite well, but I've noticed there is some pressure between the forearm and the barrel about half way down the forearm. Is this something to be concerned about and if so is it easlily remedied??

If it shoots well why change it? If you do free float the barrel, be prepared to recreate the pressure point if it does not shoot as well.

For a hunting rifle in a synthetic stock, free floating is not that important... the stock is not going to warp as wood does...

Not all rifles like to be free floated. It may or may not improve your groups. The only way to find out is to try it. If it does give you better groups, fine. If not putting a pressure point back in isn't difficult. Just put a dab of bedding material about 2" from the end of the forestock. Don't forget the release agent. Mind you, like guntech says, if it works, don't fix it.

As stated, removing a designed in pressure point and free floating the barrel may not improve groups at all and actually make them worse.
However, I seem to believe that a warped wood stock with its pressure point intact will push the point of impact much further than however much you lose in group ability. I'll take a 2" grouper over a 1" group that I don't know where is going to be.
