Moose Jaw Sk gun show. Canadian tire tables, buy a hat and get a free Norc JW 14 22 semi auto. Thought it was a good deal at $ 90.00, needed a new hat anyway. Lots of stuff at the show at reg show type prices. Went to CDN tire to get the gun, great selection of guns there.

Don't see why they wouldn't take the CT cash. Mine goes to keep the fish hook supply fresh. I donate old hooks to big, nasty Northern Pike. I'll take this Norc to the indoor next week. Gotta look at my scopes to find a suitable candidate.

Well, before we go giving each other handies over this one......Yes, it is cool, and looks like an M1A.

-Keep in mind what has happened to every other manufacturing sector, eg autos, shoes, clothes, etc, including ammo now, once you start buying Chinese. I am personally boycotting this manufacturer in order to preserve the Rugers, Marlins, etc of the world. At least those that still make their guns in the states. (Yes, I'm talking about you, Winchester, you outsourcer....)

The states is still a giant market, and one Norinco isn't going to infiltrate anytime soon (with new stuff anyway). Judging by Ruger's sales I don't think they have anything to worry about.

We all did it to ourselves. Never shopped at walmart and never will.

Nice gun at a nice price, and I feel good to know I'm doing my part to kill the North American industry. What I can't do is get my windage set. The rear sight only moves up and down, and I can't move the front sight enough to get a good zero. It's inherently a decently accurate shooter and I would love to keep the stock open sights, but I might end up just using a red dot due to the off-zero.

Get some spare mags for it! I got some nickel Marlin autoloader mags working with a bit of filing.

I'll give a thought to buying exlusively American firearms when they actually start careing for the Canadian market.

Amen to that! Been waiting for eons to see if I can get a SWFA 6x40 over the border. Even thought of smuggling one and risking jail time.. well maybe not. It's about the market. Once the US makes stuff that people want then they will get the market for it. Don't you worry bout that. If they make $%*t that people don't want, well, they've made their bed.

I'm loving the Norincos. Cheap guns that are a deal to operate. That's what I'm lookin for and that's what I got. I can deal with burrs and fit issues since the price is right. If only my local CT had 90 hats sales, I'd be all over it!

Found a use for the Bugbuster scope I had on hand for whatever. Used an offset airgun mount for the JW. The mount is not centered on the bore so I ran out of horizontal adjustment but the Norc shot pretty consistent, 1/4" off my poa at 20 yrds. Have to try another combo. Happy to say it functioned good, no hick-ups with Win 555 bulk. Definitely an ok plinker and gopher hunter. The stock feels much like a fine piece of driftwood.

Yes Norinco is a terrible company(not actually), in fact their M14s are so badly made that they are closer to the originals then the newer ones from the states because the US sold China all the tooling and machines to make them, Don't just let the name Chinese scare you let the inferior products they make speak for themselves (cheap plastic things, electronics, 2 sea cans full grade 8 bolts a 9 year old could break by turning a wrench), but not firearms.
