French MAS 1873 Trigger Return Spring

Hi, I'm trying to fix a french 1873 that has a broken trigger return spring, would you know where I can find one? Pic shows the broken trigger return spring, thanks.

If you send me the spring, I can silver-solder that and test it in my gun before sending it back to you.

I recognize the gun - and I suppose that it won't be here in Canada for a bit yet. : )

I've made a couple of springs for them out of wire spring too - a Z on top of a reversed Z stays in place fine.

The offer to help was excellent but I agree that silver soldering is unlikely to work.

That would likely perform the same function.
No doubt a coiled spring like the one from a clothespin could be made from spring wire.

Ive seen them brass brazed but it takes a guy with skill to do it im not sure how they do it without looseing the springs tension.
Normaly the heat of the brazeing takes out the spring in the spring.
i have seen it done and the springs still work good to tho.
The coil spring idea is good because i cant see how that could ever fail. be a good upgrade to keep original springs in original shape before they break.
Thats the one part that fails on the 1873.

Gut a cheap mag and grind the "W" Spring to spec.

Lee enfield sear catch spring works perfect. Just cut slightly shorter and sand sides down so frame doesn't press on it
