How can you tell if a French St. Etienne Model 1892 Revolver is classified antique or not?

I've seen them for sale in antique shops and flea markets in France.
 
Date on the side of the barrel is good but barrels can be changed. A serial number on the frame starting with "F" is a sure thing. The later ones started with "G" and "H". Some low numbered "G"'s may be antique but an "F" is good to go.
