Fricking Wholesale Sports Website

Not to mention guns, they show the 590 with speed stock, but send you a different model and never responded to my e-mail.

Well on a positive note I got my 9.3x62 RCBS dies today, my catalog listed them in the D group for $76.99, these ones say they are in group A which in my catolog lists them as $43.99. I paid $36.99 for them and actually got the right ones in the mail! There are rumors going around that I have a horse shoe in my back pocket, perhaps it is true!

Order some 9.3 dies, they can get that one right.

FWIW,
Noel

I would have had the charges cancelled on the credit card, citing 'improperly advertised and priced product, followed by refusal to correct the order', sent a copy to wholesale sports, then waited patiently for them to call and ask how they can make things right. Mail order businesses fear credit card charge-backs a lot more than the odd phone call from unhappy customers.

My God, that would be a nice drive for a afternoon here!!

ps, how is wales chances in World Cup of Rugby.!!:D:D

That sucks man. I orderd a shotgun a month and a bit ago, they said they had one in stock, but when they got my order they couldn't find it. They took a week and a half to figure out they couldn't find it too. So they tried to bring one up from lethbridge... its been over 2 weeks since they contacted lethbridge, and they can't tell me wtf is going on. If sir or another company had the bbl lenght I wanted I would go with them.

I have orderd many items from wholesale, this is the first time they have screwed up... If they end up sending the wrong item affter all of this... if they even get that far.

No worries Big JD, I ordered a rifle, they couldn't ship it, they called me a YEAR later and said it was ready for shipping did I still want it??? Errrrrr.....NO...on the bright side they didn't lose my number :)

Thats unfortunately the problem in Canada, compared to US businesses, Canadian customer service is back in the 11th century. It appears to be part of the business culture in Canada for some reason.
You got that right Tony, thanks to Liberal indoctrination for the past 13 years (not to mention several years on and off beforehand), we're sort of "in the middle" of the typically weak European work ethic and the typically strong US work ethic.
I too work with customers (tech support, by email mostly and some phone, depending on customer preference) and the US companies ARE much more demanding... because that's the way business IS DONE down there. None of this BS that goes on here, people F*** up and it's a shoulder shrug and "oh well".

Well i picked up my stuff and it was the Wrong Powder again

Just kidding :p everything Was as ordered and they only charged me $16 a can for the Trail boss gun powder. And gave me a full refund on the shipping and wrong powder.

So they made good on it so i thought it only fair to post that!

The fun continues. As my wife is a much more effective complainer than moi (I burst a vein and slam the phone down) she talked Wholesale into having DHL pick up the powder from her workplace, using a shipping label WS faxed her. DHL gets there, looks at the label and says "this is the wrong label, can't take it...the box is marked explosives" (at that point the ears of the nosy lady in the next cubicle perked up). So now the local DHL guy is going to phone Wholesale and instruct them what to do next...and my $122 remains outstanding...hopefully the wife won't be greeted by a SWAT or HazMat team tomorrow :)

Damn...today I just made an order of about 20 items including press, dies, etc. After seeing this thread I'm now not really optimistic about my order....

Similar experience with Trail Boss order

Same thing just happened to me with Trail Boss gunpowder

The guy started to argue with me till i got him to look in the catalog and see they got Trail boss showing but its # is for Magnum Rifle powder so its compleatly wrong and everyone ordering it would get the WRONG POWDER.

They let me return it and credited me then shipped the correct Powder i hope as i aint gone to pic it up yet.

but that catalog is some f**ked up
I too had the misfortune of dealing with Wholesale Sports while ordering Trail Boss,I actually brought this issue to their attention and figured it must have been dealt with(corrected) because when my I placed the order I actually got a phone call confirming it was in stock now,and did I still want it? Approximately 10 working days later I got a call from the dangerous goods courier to pick it up.Don't like the price per pound I'll tell you but I've got it and shooting it.The real problem is that they went to a new printer for their catalogue and there are numerous errors in it throughout.

Pity there is such a mess & especially the catalogue. A few yrs ago I ordered quite a lot from them & only thing missing was a set of extra laces for a pair of hunting boots. The call had an apology by then & laces came within a few days.

Lining up some things I want, not a large order, but like some others I am now pondering if all will come & turn out to be correct.

Thing is I live in a small town & even cities some distance from me have beans all when it comes to f/arm gear or items I would want. Reason I have to count on Wholesale Sports, & now I am wondering if I should deal with SIR or am I going to find SIR is out of business or been purchased by Wholesale Sports like Russels's was???

Price of ammo& powder is going up & some guns are down...prices fluctuate every so months, that is why prices are always higher & lower in the website & catalog.

I have spend thousands of $ with both Wholesale and Higgisons....Up until about 3 years ago or so Wholesale was excellent to do business with....no more....In May I ordered 10 items from them and 8 were out of stock on back order...none of the B/O items have arrived....In early Nov. thinking that they may have forgot me I ordered the same B/O items plus a bunch more items via their website because their phone order line is always busy.......Have'nt heard a peep out of them yet!....
If Higgisons was out of something Andrew would tell me and let know when and if he could get it......
It is really sad that Wholesale is such a mess as they use to be the only place in Canada to get a lot of items for rural people.......The guy in charge of the mail order dept. should be canned right now........

Which begs the question....does anyone know who owns Wholesale Sports and how to contact them so this problem can be brought to their atten. ?

I would never buy reloading supplies from anyone but Higginson Powders. Service is top notch and prices great, even better I am less than 1hr away so I make a roadtrip 2 or 3 times a year to stockup.

Higginsons is great and Andrew is a good guy to deal with, what do you do if you want a bullet made by someone other than me so hornady? Had the same issue with wholesale, try to order get 10% of what I want and even waited over 3 weeks for them to ship because they said they where busy putting stock away. Seems to me if you piss enough people off you won't need to put the stock away, as you will be out of business. Not really any other place to go....

I ordered a Benelli SBE from them 3 years ago. Paid for it up front and everything. 6 months later and duck season looming and still no gun. After several phone calls I went in in person and talked to one of the managers about it. He shrugged his shoulders and simply credited my money back to my credit card -- didn't even TRY to keep my business. Took my money drove to Russels and bought the gun I was looking for for $300 cheaper.

Best part is, exactly ONE YEAR LATER I get a call from Wholesale (bubbly, vacuous, clueless blonde -- I can tell just from the voice;) ) telling me that my SBE is in and I can pick it up. I say I don't want it anymore and she tells me that according to her it's already been paid for in full -- they had never recorded that they had refunded my money. Fighting the temptation of an apparent BOGO on Benellis I told her that I had cancelled the order a year ago and had my money refunded then.

Don't deal with them at all now. The guys behind the gun counter are generally complete arseholes who act as if you ruined their entire day by coming there to spend money and take them away from their conversations with their cronies.
