So I have wanted one of these ever since I heard they were coming out, and finally found one in stock at Prairie Gun Traders, so couldn't stop myself. These guys have been excellent in the past so I went ahead and ordered this morning.

I already reload .357 so this will be a cheap plinker, and camp gun for me. Will be great for the cottage on the quads.

I have a Leupold 2-7x33 waiting to go on it for the range, but don't like putting scopes through the nightmares of quad trails around the cottage, so it will be easily taken on and off with the Ruger rings that come with the rifle.

Anyways I will put up some more pics, and a range report when I get it, but here is a pic off the net.

Heavy for caliber? I think they only weigh 5 1/2 lbs, and are fairly short. Would be great as a truck/atv/bush gun. Would be a fun, economical plinker too.

Cheap to shoot.

Accurate to 100m.

Nice light gun, with irons, makes a great bush/pack/quad gun.

Loaded right I wouldn't hesitate to use it for deer, but I have other guns for that.

Biggest thing for me is that it will be cheap to shoot, as I already reload .357. I was looking into a .223 but they rarely come with irons, and I'm not looking for a semi.

Basically it's just a fun gun that shoots cheap ammo, but more fun than a 22.

I purchased this 77/357 but haven't had time to truely test it for accuracy, but cycles RNFP 158 gr cast bullets like butter. I have other bullet styles to try like SWC's & 180 gr hornady JHP's with different powders, so it should be fun when I can get around to it....

I have loaded some WC duds (no powder or primers) to cycle through the gun from the magazine, & they work too,....now to find a load!

So far I love this little Ruger, & will be fantastic for small game to Deer size animals within 75yds or so.

I know you will enjoy your gun when you get it, so far I'm thrilled with mine...

Jealous.... I have always wanted one of those, pretty much for the exact same reasons. Easy/cheap to reload for, light and iron sights.

i have one but in 44 mag, it shoots remington 44 special handgun rounds pretty darn good. it also like barnes 225 gr and for cheap plinking rounds it likes blazer. its light accurate and its fits me so well!!

Nice! I'm saving up for one. I want to use it as a cheap plinker/truck gun.

I sold my SKS as I found it such a pain to clean after plinking just a few rounds. I'm set up to reload so all I'll need is some components and dies to get into .357 Mag. I plan to mount a low power scope as well.

I'm loving mine, I just had it out today, open sights are great, with a 1-4x out to 100 it was easily holding 3inch 10 shot clusters, that is pretty good for food for my table.

Hope you guys enjoy them!

I have been waiting to find a bolt 357 for 10-15 years! When I heard about this rifle, i was excitied to get one! I have one in 44mag as well.

Once I got a look at one, my intrest suddenly evaporated!
It just doesnt look well made!
The feed ramp looks like it protrudes way too far into the chamber. Thus leaving a unsupported part of a case being fired. Not good if you want to make this rifle perform.

And the rifling seems to start wayyy to far in front of the chamber. Its "freeee bored"

Hmmmmmmm! I was so looking forward to seating a cast bullet into the rifling, and make it shoot/perform very accurately. What a dissapointment!

Its just amazing how the 44 magnum, blued version is sooo much nicer to look at as well!

Darn it! I was sooo looking forward to it! Ohhhhwell, we cant have everything we want.

I have a 77/44 and it is a great little bush gun. Pretty much same size & weight as a 10/22. The only bad thing is I can't justify (even to myself) buying a .357 copy.

Ruffbird; are you shooting hollow base WC out of that? You probably know that hollow base slugs don't like pressure?

I am planning to get one of these, and was wondering how well the bolt cycles with .44 special rounds...
