Ishapore recycling, I have just purchased a No.1 MKIII* that is still marked <410> Ishapore 1942 (410 is in chevrons), but it has been reconverted back to .303 with a replacement barrel marked P on the knox form and serial numbers match. Buttstock has the Post-Independance SA markings. The former owner has had the rifle for a number of years, I think it was reworked by the Arsenal since every part that is supposed to be numbered has the same serial number even the forestock. Any opinions if this rifle is original Arsenal reconversion or not, and if anyone else has seen other similar reconversions.

Hi JP-

I have a 1915 BSA Sht.L.E. which is marked as having been RFI converted to .410 in 1942, but which was rebarreled to .303 at some time before I got it. To be honest, I haven't torn it down to see any of the "hidden: markings ....

~Angel~ has one of those in her Enfield collection.....

I'll try to have a look at it before we go away for a week's training up at Milcun. If not, I'll do it when we get back....

Regards,
Badger
