I am looking to shoot my first multi-gun match after shooting a few IPSC one gun at a time matches and was looking for advice on how to get my belt rig set up for the match. It's the Zombie match in Brantford so Rifle & pistol. I have an AR and a Glock 22. Do I just throw a couple of rifle mag holders on my IPSC pistol belt and call it a day or is there more to it than that?

I put a bit about this in the thread for the match but I realized I was hijacking the thread so I started another one.

I'm in a similar boat in terms of going from IPSC to this multi gun. I'll be using a vest with pouches for my AR mags personally. What you suggest will work just as well. I don't foresee many mag changes, I imagine it will be just the initial load which may even be done from a table and maybe a forced mag change in one or a couple stages. I'm just speculating based on battlebeaver's YouTube video from their first multi gun match.

That's what I've been doing for the past few years. Now that I've gotten better, I'm upgrading to a Safariland ELS for the custom ability. But if you're only running rifle and pistol, your IPSC rig is more than enough. I was never slowed down by my IPSC rig, even when having to mount shells on it.

Forget the vest. Keep everything on your belt. It's faster. If you look at the good 3Gners, no one uses a vest; they keep everything on the belt. Easier to get to as well.

Of course, they're all running 60 round Surefire mags and the like. That takes up MUCH less real estate.

My recommendation for economy of space and the maximum number of rounds is HSGI Double Decker TACOs. Both Pistol and Rifle mag in the same footprint.

For info, I run a HSGI Suregrip battle belt, and even though I'm not a small guy, I ran out of molle real estate when I moved my holster off my thigh.
