Took my k31 to the range yesterday. At 100yds was able to put 8 shots in a 3" group that is pretty good for me. My problem is that the group was 2-3 inches right of center. from the butt of the rifle do I have to move the front post to the left or the right to move the group on the target to center. any advice is appreciated. thanks

Move it about the width of the top of the front sight, for a start.

Check an M-1 Garand: front sight covers 4 inches at 100; you only need half of that.

at 100 yards how high were you shooting? mine shoots like 2 feet high.... i hate that i wish there was a way to zero the iron sights at 100 yards. it would make that rife much more enjoyable for me too shoot...

Before you move the front sight, have a method of marking its current position so you can tell how much you have moved it, and can return to that point to start over if reqd.

Good idea, I was going to measure where it is before I move it. The sight looks like it was originally marked where it needed to be as it seems that there are 2 lines that will again line up when I'm finished if where I think I have to move it to is correct.

My k31 is only shooting 3-4 inches high at 100 yards, I think that is about where it should be but am open to input on this. The front sight has a + on it so I think by that link it makes it a 6.8

Most likely would be better off with a "-" front sight blade at 100yds, if you want a center hold. I prefer a 6:00 hold myself.

There is a bit less than a 2 moa difference between the the height differences on the K31 issued front sight posts.

+. = < 4 moa higher than standard

+ = < 2 moa higher than standard

no marking = standard

- = < 2 moa lower than standard

-. = < 4 moa lower than standard

My front sight has 2 engraved lines that are not lined up. By the way my gun is shooting to the right, and the fact that to line these up would put the sight closer to where I need it, I am just wondering if these lines are where it was lined up from new?
