Front sight fiber insert broken on my M&P9 Pro

Just had mine broken for the first time in 1.5 years. Took my buddy shooting, he decided to help loading mags when I stepped back, so he dropped the box of ammo onto the front sight. Funny thing, he shoots OK for a person with two left hands. :D

Anyway, you can get the 1.5mm (approx. 0.06") from Scot at cedarvalleyhunting dot ca. He has lots for CZ Shadow owners, $8 for about 5" of red FO.

I wish I saw the Dawson youtube video before I did my sight. I'll wait till the rod breaks again - it is loose - and do it properly. Also, I was recommended to use a blue flame lighter so that soot from the flame doesn't spoil the fiber optic.

Okay. This is a super simple DIY repair. Have the service center send you some FO rod. Cut it with something - I use sidecutters- just slightly longer than the sight itself. Slide the piece of rod into the sight. Melt the ends with a lighter just enough to swell the rod to prevent it falling out.

Might as well learn to do it now because FO rod breaks!

Guess what happened to me today? Yup the fiber optic rod fell out on my CZ Shadow. Asked a few ppl at the range for some glue - but to no avail.
