Front sight tool for n04 mk1,F/P projection questions

Couple of questions for the masses. What are you guys using for the front sight screw to loosen/tighten it? I looked online with no luck for the tool to do this so might have to make one but thought maybe some one had a idea.

Also, what should be the maximum projection from the bolt face for the firing pin? I need to take some bolts apart and would like a measurement for when I put them back together.

This Canadian service manual is a lifesaver and has all the information you are looking for in terms of firing pin protrusion and bolt head over spin allowances and such.

As for a tool for the front sight, if you are talking about a tool to loosen the front reverse head screw. I cut a slot in an old allan key that was of similar diameter to the hole using a dremel cut off disk.
 
You can also take an old Phillips or Robertson screwdriver, cut the shaft to a reasonable length, then cut the slot into the shaft as described above with a dremel tool. Less likely to get misplaced than an allen key.
I think Princess auto may sell a similar screwdriver already made up for removing tire valves, but I have always made my own.

You are correct, I just checked the page (3-2-6) in the manual I posted and it lists firing pin protrusion allowances from 0.04 to 0.05 inches or 40-50 Thou

somewhere in my enfield tool box I have a firing pin protrusion gauge. :) I was fairly certain that the max was marked on it as 50 thou, without checking the manual.

good to see I can remember a few things still.
 
Thanks guys. I was going to do a screwdriver but didn't have a broken one around that fit. An living out in the middle of nowhere cheap screw drivers don't exist! I do have lots and I mean lots of allen keys that would work. Never even thought of them. But lo and behold a tire valve stem tool fits rather nicely and I have a few of them around here. As for the F/P protrusion thanks for the input and link. Put one bolt back together and have 40 thou on the nose.
 
The tire valve tools work great, I was going to go that route but also had lots of Allen keys so I saved a trip
