Hi, anybody using Frontier bullets from Marstar? Just wondered what the quality was like. I plan to reload for 40 S&W and 9mm lugar. If someone is using them, what weight and type do you recommend? I am not sure what some of the letters mean on there web site. Cheers Ross

115 or 124 in 9mm and 165 or 180 in .40s&w round nose (they have pix) as they feed smoother and more reliably.
Quality is pretty good, thou you may expect a batch of 115rg bullets being ~113.6gr on average (spread is +-0.3gr) and then another batch with 116gr (+-0.3gr); I guess they come from diff molds.
Accuracy is good and overall I'm very pleased and will keep buying them.
Only thing, they are out of the good ones lately.

If you can find Berry's plated in the same price range - go for them, they are of slightly better quality.

I have been using the 147 grain RNFP (round nose flat point) 9mm bullets in my Shadow and 92. I have not had super accuracy with them, but they are also 1/2 the cost of the accurate bullets I tried, so I can live with them for the 15m and closer IDPA and NSCC practice. A gentleman I have been shooting with has had good luck with Win WSF, so I may give it a try when I go get powder next time.

I have been using them in .45 cal 230 grain round noses. They seem to shoot acceptably, but I have seen better. Often the price is better on them though.

JohnOne (Marstar) says they are getting a huge order from Frontier on or around May 27.

JoBrook Firearms, a supporting dealer on CGN, is carrying Berry's.

Hi Ross

You might also look into AIM projectiles which are produced in Canada. The 9mm 124gr ones are about $5.00 per 1000 more than the Frontier's comparable bullet. I, and others, have used the AIM bullets to produce 38 Super ammo and find that even over the 38 Super's very high pressures (when loaded for Major) the AIM projectiles work well. Can't comment on the Frontier bullets as I haven't used em.

Google AIM projectiles for info. They are absolutely excellent people to deal with.

I use the 115 gr. RN in 9mm and the 160 gr. RNFP. in 40 S&W. I use mid range jacketed data and both shoot great. Best bang for your buck.

I've used Frontier 9mm 115RN and 147FP (I have about 8000 left of the latter), and I find they're just fine.

Most recently, I've been loading with Black Bullets 147FP (I think a moly coating?) that I got from a buddy. They're not too bad either, poking nice round holes in paper, close to other round holes in paper, which is as good as I can expect (both types are likely more accurate than I am)
