Many sincere thanks goes out to Mark, Paul and the rest of the KTSA folks who put on a superb shoot. Your efforts are much appreciated. The attendance at this years shoot speaks to quality of this event.

Keep it up, you've got a winner!

thanks again,

Gunsmoke

I agree, and I'll add some pics and thoughts:

I had a great time at my first precision shooting competition, and wanted to share a few pics, pass on my thanks, and encourage any fence sitters or newbies to get involved, try it out, and enjoy!
I couldn't have met a more welcoming, encouraging bunch of folks. Many of you there were particularly helpful, and my sincere thanks to you.
Especially I wanted to thank Mark Anderson of the Powderkeg, and Paul Reiben of Rangesports Unlimited, as well as the 6 young people who pulled targets for us. And all the others who worked hard to make this a well run event. (and to Don Piper for being so patient with me as I was a total newb to scoring!)
Of particular pleasure was meeting 2 gentlemen who knew and shot with my late Dad: Bob Pitcairn and Don Hall. I was tickled pink to realize that I was shooting with these guys!
For the record, I think I came about dead last in all this, but I knew that going in. I went to try it out, to have fun, and to learn. I succeeded.

I hope this persuades a few new folks to come out and try precision shooting. You'll get a warm welcome and lots of help and encouragement. See you all next year, and thanks again.

Glad you guys had a good time and I hope you come out for more S&A in the future. :D

Thanks for posting pics Steve. I had my camera in the truck and forgot to get it out to take some pics to post.

How about one of Ron's night chopper? :D

I will post the scores as soon as they hit my inbox.

Another big thumbs up to all that organised and helped out. Also, to the cooking crew that made such wonderful steaks for dinner.

The level of shooting was at an all time high for the three years that I have shot. Conditions were very tricky on Sat but steady on Sunday.

Some great relays were shot and this is the first time that there were 4 to 5 15X (perfect relays) shot. Congrats to all that drove them into the X ring.

Was great to see a few new faces. Also, very exciting to hear that F(F) is now a permanent class. The 308/223 shooters can now shoot for their own set of trophies.

F(O) was tightly contested as you will see once the scores are posted.

Although the weather looked great with 'easy' conditions, it was anything but. Lots of dropped points and serious head scratching under what looked like X ring conditions. Good stuff.

I look forward to next season.

Ah yes, Ron Hiller's amazing RC helicopter. He also had a "flying wing", but at 150mph, it was too fast for me to get any pics of it! Anyway, Ron flew this bird on Friday and Saturday night. If I could figure out how, I'd post the video I took, but I suspect it would take forever to load...

Apologies for the blurriness, I was using zoom in some of these, and the others, well at night and with it lit up, the slightest movement translates to blurred shots.
Many thanks, Ron- you gave us an amazing show, both day and night!

Amazing Weekend

I also want to thank all the guys and gals for putting on a great shoot this weekend, and a special thanks for all those that helped me out when disaster struck after a pierced primer, I thought forsure it was over for me, but its very heart warming when the competition jumped right in and helped get the gun shooting again and even offered to let me use one of their guns to finish the competition, if need be. THANKS AGAIN SO MUCH.
It really was an amazing weekend.
Congratulations to all the shooters, lots of great scores.
I had a blast flying the heli and wing too.
Thanks,
Ron & Wendy

I'm really looking forward to shooting with you guys next year. A grizzled bugger you all know (he calls himself ruggedly handsome! ;) ) who goes by the name of Leeper is building an F Class rifle for me this winter. Only thing I can be sure of is that the rifle will be much better than me, and I'll be in the running for the booby prize next year!

Apparently Bill went out Elk hunting this year. Mark phoned him when a last minute spot opened up....but he declined.

Come out for the Spring match, date yet to be determined.
