So is there any record anywhere of anyone getting in trouble for selling/buying something the FRT?
Would LEO be able to setup a sting to catch someone buying or selling since the law is not clear?

There are thousands of guns listed in the FRT. Many are transferred every day.

Are you referring to firearms that have appeared with a prohibited classification since the OIC was proclaimed?

Of course a sting operation could be set up to create a test case to establish the legitimacy of these prohibited classifications.
If this were to happen, I doubt it would be an officer operating independently - it would be organized and approved at a high level.
A decision would have been made to test the validity of a prohibition, and establish a legal precedent all the way to the SCoC if necessary.

I’m referring to the Modern Varmint and Modern Sporter. I see them pop up on EE from time to time

I'm not aware of anyone, but it's always a concern. I own a ATRS MS and shoot it regularly. I also have firearms insurance and as such, have been told they'd likely cover my expenses if my firearm was seized and/or myself charged.
