FTF Last Round 8 Round Mag new Gun...

Hi,

I finally got a chance last night to shoot a brand new P345 which I have read will feed any ammo.

Always on the last round of the original 8 round mag it came with I had a FTF three times in 50 rounds.

This is right out of the box. No cleaning or removing of the excess grease and using UMC flat nose factory ammo.

I was told I should oil the slide area but I also read that some 45s hate flat nose ammo. Also read about "break in" periods for brand new guns.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

BTW besides the FTFs the gun performed great and was very accurate.

I would try different mags.

I also have had some guns that needed a bit of a break in before they ran 100% so I would put a few hundred rounds through it (if not more) and if the problem continues you could have someone take a look at it. I would guess it's a magazine problem though.

Really odd, NEVER had any problems with either .45ACP Ruger.
though I did have to send a Taurus PT45 back twice for repair.
Once for failure to feed (halfway into the chamber) and once for the safety.

But then I have a S&W .22 auto (2206) with one factory magazine that doesn't work, and as far as I can see, its identical to the other ones. The gun has a disconnector preventing it from firing unless a mag is inserted.

So it didn't feed? Where was the round when it jammed?

Almost perfectly lined up facing the proper direction, slide was open just enough to see most of the bulllet and casing.

Try giving the gun a good clean and lube before your next outing.The preservative from the factory could be slowing things up.Next I would try shooting a 230 RN factory round,that should sort out if you have any problems with your mags.

Rugers are usually very reliable out of the box and I doubt that the magazines being new are the problem.Also ,rugers dont usually need a breaking in period like some 1911's do.My money is on the ammo as being the problem,so try either 230 RN or the H&G 200 SWC,they should be more reliable
