Was just out shooting the Tavor today, and I had a couple of FTF. Both times I was using Questars LAR mags, AE 55gr, and it was on the last round.
The gun has roughly + - 2000 rounds. These were my first failures with the Tavor. And around 800 rounds of that was with the AE 55gr

Here's a few pics of rounds that didnt feed

I'm hoping its just ammo related, but like I said, I've already shot around 800 round of the same stuff with zero issues till now.

Any ideas what's going on? I'll be taking it out again in the next few days and I'll try some differnt ammo and mags to see if that makes a differnce.

On a plus note, I got to try out some Federal XM193 Ball that I just bought a crate of, and I was pleasantly suprised with its accuracy and consistency. Just shooting from prone without a rest I was getting 1" groups at 50 yards with a hot barrel and just an Aimpoint. I know that may not be much to some of you but I'm quite happy with that. So far this is the best shooting bulk ammo I've tried.

Remember the pics I texted you TV? Looks very similar. But mine were from trying to shot a right handed bolt left handed. Brass would bounce back in and jam the sucker making the same dents.

I would hazzard to guess mags if it only happens on your hast round with questar lar mags.

Looking at the pics I would say the bolt is missing stripping the round completely from the mag and ends up sliding over it and gouging the brass while atempting the push the round forward resulting in projectiles being pushed back in.

Your bang on. Bolt went was half way foward and the round was jammed underneath it.

If my kids shoot there Tavors, from a rest or sand bag, the bolt hold open lever rests on the bag.
Last round in mag always screws up, like you pics.

Make sure bolt hold open lever is not resting on the shooting bag.

Yeah...but that shouldn't cause a FTF. All it would do is allow the bolt to close on an empty mag/chamber when it would normally hold open. All it takes to fix that is the way you bag up too...

From my lofty perch in the Peanut Gallery as a self-proclaimed expert...I would always tend to check the mag first and the ammo second....

I could see it causeing a FTF because the spring tension will be off and not holding the round against the feed lips firmly.

So.... how did it go?

No more issues, I've had it out 4 more times since then, and around another 500 rounds without a single hiccup. I never did stretch the mag spring, I have several LAR mags and wasent sure witch one it was. Next time I have a issue I'll mark the mag, like I should of done.
