I've been a BIG fan of "gateway guns" since childhood, so the "cancel culture" attitude of Bill C-21 makes sense if you ask me... In fact everything the anti-gunners do makes sense because it is killing our sport one paper cut at a time... And by doing so, they intend to dissuade and discourage as many kids as possible from taking up the Shooting Sports!

We can not let that happen, so BUY A BB GUN!!!

Let's see your R1/SBR/MPW/AK I'll get it started...

Here's my Crosman DPMS R1 Full Auto BB rifle with a 2MOA Vortex Crossfire red dot and a AIM buttpad from Marstar (thanks Payam) to increase the LOP. Not sure why, but the LOP seems short on these BB guns. Anyone else notice that?

Here you go. Added butt pad, Magpul RVG, Sling Attacment & sling, TRS-25, Fake can (-14CCW). I really need to pick up another magazine, 25 bb's go in about 1.5 seconds...lol.

I didn't really notice if the LOP was any different from the real deal.

So how do these things group at 50 yards? How is the penetration on cardboard?

Definitely get one with the last round hold open. It's my biggest complaint about the M712.

Well, that and I think all of them have an absurdly high rate of fire, even compared to the actual powder burning schnellfeuer

Not a BB but an electric airsoft, and I bought this at least 15 years ago. It sure took a long time for this gateway gun to lead me into real firearm ownership.

I did a bunch of enteral upgrades, but cant remember them all at this time.

I prefer airsoft because I can shoot my friends with them and the holes they leave in my walls aren't as deep.

Ragged hole @ 5m... 50m might be a bit ambitious for a 177 bb going a little over 400fps...

I had my eye on the DPMS; what’s the difference between the R1? They are e same manufacture no?

I got mine from airgunsource and went with the R1 because of the 'flash' hider.

Not sure there's much difference between the DPMS and R1 other than that?

I grabbed one of the m1a1's and its great, loud, but great! When i have time, I might try my hand at making some wood furniture, the pastic is really cheap and ruins the feel, but for the price point, its great. Im sure wood furniture would have made this a cost prohibitive bbgun for me

There is also a difference in the stock. The R1 has a milspec AR stock, the other has a strange looking adjustable stock.

The R1 will accept AR Buffer and accepts their butt stocks. The DPMS is proprietary and can not be swapped. Get the R1, more customizable.
