I was finishing up my week of golf ( don't laugh!) in Scottdale, Arizona and dropped by the Scottsdale Gun Club....very nice, high quality establishment...
The products on the wall made me want to cry..full auto trigger groups for H&K products, silencers, all of the short barreled autos and revolvers which are prohibited in Kanada....almost too much to bare!
Got a chance to trial a FN P90 (5.7x28) in select fire, with a Trijicon Tri-power optic...short, easy to handle, minimal recoil even in full auto...horrible, heavy, creepy, military trigger..went though my two, 25 round mags in a hurry!
Also put a couple of 25 round mags though an H&K UMP in 9MM....better trigger and ergonomics than the FN...just as easy to control in full auto, just not as '###y' a calibre....Without the select fire option, either just wouldn't 'do it' for me...the novelty factor would wear off pretty soon, and the price of ownership (purchase price on the UMP, ammo cost for the P90) is prohibitive.
Also got a chance to put a box of ammo through a Glock 30...the compact model in 45ACP, and was very impressed with the handling, tolerable recoil and accuracy. I already own, and am fond of my Glock 21, but now I may have to give Mark at Questar a call and order up a 30 as well!
