Looking to buy my father some full bodied dekes for field hunting geese. With nothing local to check out im seeking advise for what looks most realistic in the field so i can mail order them. Open to any brand thats realistic with the nod going to the most easy to set up and take down. Hes getting old. Thanks

I just picked up those bigfoot decoys from cabelas. They look great, and the big feet mean you literally just set them on the ground. But I'm curious how they'll hold up if it gets windy....haven't used them yet.

Ive heard mixed reviews.

His shells look really bad and flare alot of birds. Since hes basically claimed one of my 10ga guns as his own i figure he wont ##### if i buy him quality dekes.

Bigfoots. Best of both worlds. Look good and are bullet proof. But I would get the originals, not the B2s which are only sold at Cabelas.

If your ordering in the mail, Shipping will kill you for full bodies.

I ordered 5doz Divebomb silhouettes from Missouri. Aas at my house in Ontario in about 5 days, was about $700 all said and done....200 of that was shipping and import fees...

Not cheap but its 5doz(price of 2doz full bodies) and they are very realistic and take about 5minutes to set up all 5doz...have them all in 1 bag too

Why the originals over the b2 ?

I have found they are more durable and the originals are slightly bigger.

The avians are super nice, but plan on taking super good care of them.

I have had the same BFs for over 15 years and I throw them in the back of a trailer and they still look great.

Dive bombs are great, I have 5 dozen. Until a couple days like today with subzero weather and now you need a drill to put them in the ground. I can't recall offhand but I think the Avians have the same kind of stake as the DBs.

Bigfoots, just stand em on the ground.

I have never had a problem in the wind, but I have never hunted in a hurricane.

If it's a strong wind, face them into it.

I've owned every brand made over the years and by far the best I have owned are the ones I currently own, AvianX. I'm running the lesser Canadas. Cabelas has had them on sale all fall in the Lesser AXP Outfitters pack(12) with a 12 slot bag included for $399($100 off). Lessers take up alot less room and all Canadas big & small pile into them. They have the best stake system I've ever had, are fast to set up. No stupid elastics, hard metal stands or stupid foot bases that cause the decoys to fall over in a wind. That would be my goto. I dont know how many you need or how much room you have to carry them but I can fit 2 doz Canadas, a dozen Specks, a dozen mallards, an AvianX aframe blind and other assorted gear in the box of my truck(6.5' with a flat cap) and two dozen more Canadas in the back seat!

I own full bodies, whatever brand they are and combined with my buddies bigfoots, they take up a lot of room. Hunted with a friends avians and they are insane how they fit into the slotted bags. IMO they're worth more than Avian is even asking.

I hate that 12 slot bag. Its too short, decoys always falling out, stakes fall out if you look at them the wrong way. Stakes suck for frozen ground too.

I'll take my DOA steel base fulls and silhouettes over Avian lessers anyday.

I have big feet b2’s. I like them but you need a trailer. Going on 3 years. They work great, no real problems. Some have the feet glued on as they keep popping off. I typically get one That falls over every hunt. A bit annoying but not a deal breaker. I have hunted in 50km/hr winds and they have stayed up. Except one... always one. Lol

I have the same as part of my spread and I agree. It is nice that they include a 12 slot bag but have to agree with dvxdude, the bag is a bit flimsy and a pita at times. But it works and protects the decoys - they’ve stood up very well for me. Stakes can be a bit tough in stony or frozen fields but where I hunt in SW Ontario the ground very rarely gets froze hard till after the season is done. The plus of the bag is with the shoulder strap I can wear it and walk around collecting decoys and stowing them and their stakes as I go - my larger full bodies I can only grab 3 or 4 at a time so it’s a lot of back and forth.

They are light to carry and quick and easy to set up. Their lifelike movement is awesome as well. My bigfoots are gorgeous but statuesque. I don’t have a trailer so I have to pop the bigfoots’ bases on and off each hunt and while that isn’t much, it gets old in the late season when I’m tearing down in the dark wet weather.
