Full camo dips?

I don't know how durable the factory dips are. I had a stock dipped a few years ago and it has held up good. I think it really depends how many coats of clear are applied over top of the dip. My stock received two coats of clear.

This is a Rem 7 Predator, metal and stock are dipped.
I guess if it sucks I could always have it blasted off...

I'll take a pic of a refinish I did on an HS Savage 10 stock... one of the various textured paints you can pick up at CT/Home Depot etc.
Few nice things about textured paint...the texture of course a grippy, it hides flaws and looks very even, it's super easy to touch up at anytime.
This was the before, how it came to me...not a bad Krylon camo job, but not really my style lol.

i have a predator model seven and have been thinking of coating it with cerakote a. not keen on all that camo. cerakote a should go over the camo dip and be quite durable.

I have a Mossberg factory dipped 590a1 kryptek typhoon.
Very minor wear on the grip area, otherwise perfect.
I wouldn’t hesitate.

Here is the after of the Savage 10 above. Rustoleam multi texture in autumn brown. Going to do a few more stocks with it when the weather warms up.

I always hated the Mcmillan speckle paint on my hunters edge stock, but was hesitant to change it since it was so durable (almost impossible to mark). I had it dipped in chatham ontario at southwest hydrographics, and they explained that most of the durability comes from the clear coat after dip. The clear used on my stock was an automotive grade satin. I have to say is that it has held up as good as the mcmillan finish, and taken it's lumps without a mark.
