Hey guys im wondering what a full out tactical SKS build is worth. Im talking quad rail, laser, lights, bipod tapco stock, forend pistol grip, 20rnd clip, muzzle break with optics and scope mounts. Looking to purchase one wondering what the value is on something like this. What line of SKS is better the Russian or the Chinese?

I would say at least 10 000 dollars. If you want a sparow missile launcher mounted on a side rail it will be extra of course....

Ive never seen a muzzle break with optics and a scope mount.......

Is this really a thread?

Yuo.... Unfortunately it is.... Lol!!!

To the OP, Bypass all the Tapco crap, lasers, lights and buy yourself a nice Sks and shoot it. If you have bad eyes and cannot shoot without optics, then add a scout mount and a red dot, or a Choate/Promag D/T mount and a light Magnification optic and then shoot the hell outta it. Save yourself the time and the money on all the bolt of crap... Just a thought, but ammo instead!

Less then all the parts. Tactical sks are typically built of chinese accessories, which really seem poorly crafted and not worth the price paid in my opinion.

Adding $500 worth of parts to an sks doesn't make it a $700.

I agree. All sarcasm aside OP, putting all that crap on an SKS is a waste of money. You seem gripped by the temptation to tacticool the hell out of something, but the novelty of all that junk will wear off fast. These rifles are great shooters right out of the box, and for just over $400, you can grab a Russian version along with a crate of ammunition to keep it well fed.

But if you absolutely need to go fullout mall-ninja, check out High Caliber Services (www.hical.ca) They have pretty much everything you'll need to butcher... 'scuse me, modify your SKS.

Here i thought this guy was serious about modding his rifle then I read the sarcastic post LOL you deserve all the purist wrath this thread attracts

If there are mods on this site that care about organization they should move this to the red rifles before we get 10 pages of uppity BS

im pretty sure you have been a CGN user long enough to know exactly how the Milsurp crowd feels about pumping $500.00 of bolt on black crap to an SKS and trying to value it online.
your best bet is to purchase one from Marstar with a crate of Ammo for a good buck and shoot the sh*t outa it!

lol, he said clip.....

This thread on CGN is like playing a sold out show at the sydney opera house with an out of tune piano... you can see the collective cringe in the audience....

That being said.... I believe that if you were to take an SKS ($180), Rail ($85), NF optics..... ($2500)... selling it used here... $2680...

thats about the only way to get a lot of money for a used SKS here...

@ the OP:

If you REALLY want the perfect Tactical SKS, buy on, take it out of the box, clean out the cosmoline and learn how to shoot the thing.

It is as reliable as a rock.

The sights are wide enough that you can see them and use them in low light.

Most maintenance problems are caused by using crappy old corrosive-primed surplus ammo. Feed the thing fresh, noncorrosive ammo. Better yet, handload for it.

It was designd to work in all weather and climatic conditions, hit a man-sized target out to as far as 300 metres.... and that is ALL that it was designed to do.

The PLA thinks rather highly of the as-issued SKS.

So does the PAVN and the FLN and the SP and the Viet Cong and a few other organisations. You really might consider THEIR points of view on the matter.

"Building" a bog-stock $169 SKS into a $400 tacti-kooool special will set you back $800 in parts. At the same time, it dos not IMPROVE the rifle one tiny bit; if anything, it lowers the utility (the essential usefulness) of the rifle. Save your money, friend, buy a spare rifle.

A couple of further points: semi-auto rifles in Canada are limited to 5 rounds. Attempting to source an illegal 20-round magazine would be a violation of the law AND of forum rules.

If guys are making fun of your shopping list, you might try to improve your own English: THAT is where the problem lies in this department. Spelling, punctuation and terminology all are important. There are some posts on here which are so poorly-worded that I have trouble even trying to undrstand what the Poster is saying. Of course, I have ONLY been collecting and working on these things for the last 50 years, so likely I don't know as much as the clerk at the tactikool store.

Your buddies over at Red Rifles have tricked you into coming over here to Milsurp because they know that this forum is about restorng and preserving original military rifles. They were hoping that some of us (such as myself) would get all out-of-sorts with you and tell you what we really think. We won't do that because we are gentlemen here...... although we might poke a little harmless fun at poor English usage and silly questions.

Hope this helps.
