Fulton Armory Bolt in a Norc Shorty

Do you know if a Fulton Armory bolt will fit in a Norc Shorty? I realize that it should be head spaced but then that would give me an excuse to come up to Collingswood for a visit.

Thanks

YES, they should fit for the most part. I have encountered the ODD shorty receiver that did not allow a USGI or FA bolt to drop straight in. My 2011 shorty is one of them. So I trial fit and then test fired various Norinco bolts and found(then kept) that bolt which gave me a FIVE thou chamber dimension. :D

Life is good!

Now, did you swap that FA Bolt into your shorty YET?

Welll the situation is this, my bolt seems to disassemble itself once in awhile. I currently have a bunch of bolt parts being sent from Fulton Amory but there is a complete Fulton Amory bolt for sale on the EE that I am considering.

Do I continue putting parts in the stock Norc bolt hoping that the parts don't continue to pop out or do I spend the big bucks on a whole new bolt. I love the gun and would like to keep shooting it, I just want it to be reliable.

Thanks for your help.

I have only experienced a self disassembling bolt once and it was in the middle of a deliberate string. I was slowing down the bolt travel.

Is it coming apart when the rifle is operating at full speed with superior annihilating power? :)

Cheers, Barney

No, this occurred during normal firing speed. The bolt's movement was not impeded. I was using standard crappy Norc ammo that has never given any problems. The Fulton parts should arrive today, I bought loads of extractor springs and detents as well as ejector springs. I will give them a try when I return home.

The question is what do I do if it fails again? Buy a Fulton bolt, another used Norc bolt?

Thanks

Well I assembled the bolt with the new extractor spring and detent. I went to the range and fired approximately 60 rds of Norc ammunition. The bolt functioned flawlessly. Maybe I forgot to put the detent in last time I assembled it? Anyways, I will keep putting rounds down range and keep my fingers crossed. I really don't want to spend the money on a Fulton bolt.

Thanks
