Did some long range fun shooting with Mystic Player and General Ripper. Shooting rocks from >550 to 800 yards. Those who have attended the Summerland shoot may recognize the location. Click to enlarge photos. All rifles were .223 with handloads. There was wind (and rain) so doping was an ongoing variable. Some rocks died though ;).

My wonky home-made rifle rest performed well, and allowed some very stable shots. Attached are a table and spotting scope/mounting arm.

Mystic with his tactical frankensavage.

Wind from the right, no left, no right - awe crap.

General Ripper and his amazing HK. He was planting lead with this semi with some great accuracy

A fuzzy look at how things looked where things were landing. Those smaller rocks were the targets

GR brought his Tavor and this metal target. Not only was the tavor hitting the target at 50 yards, the bullets were passing through!

The Tavor is a very fun little gun to shoot.

Fun was had by all.

Looks like fun, and that stand looks interesting. Is that a spotting scope stand? By the way, did a re-scheduling of the Long Range Shoot come up for discussion? :D

The unit is a photographic tripod with a home made rifle rest on the top.

Sorry for the delay - I did not see your question.

Well of course it would be a photographic tripod! What else for you??? Looks like fun guys, I miss shooting but can never get out...

That's lame Troutseeker. That's what "blackbook" time is for. Ask Milo. We took off the afternoon using blackbook time and went to the gun store to have his 338LM put together. :D Make time. Enjoy it. Don't let the job take everything (It's very easy for that to happen).

Too much work and not there long enough to bother. Besides, 700yds is a nice distance to start with :)

I guess we could move further back and then we would have a start around 600yds but this works.
