so i picked up a Frankford Arsenal case trim prep machine from the local hardware store a little while back and when i finally got around to doing up some ammo and went to set up the machine i found that the cutting bit would not thread into the threaded shaft.
i got out the tap and die set and checked the shaft, its threading was good.
checked the cutting bit, it was way off.
tried to clean it up and cut it but it just broke off the threading in shards.
bit was a loss.
so i was more than a little unimpressed with Frankford Arsenal.
i was in the hardware store a couple days later and mentioned to the guy in the gun department that i would be bringing the box back to get another and checking before i left the store that the cutting bit would go in.
he informed me they where out of stock - but did say he had an issue last year with one of their products and he contacted them and they made it right so he suggested i contact them before bringing the item back.
so i had already ordered in 2 new RCBA cutting bits in to replace (one carbide one normal just to compare) so i would loose nothing by contacting them.
so i went to their website and searched around for contact info.
it was surprisingly hard to find contact information for them, while searching i saw i could leave them a review of their product..... so i did.
i finally was able to send them a note.
never heard back.
waited 10 business days then decided to try again.
could not for the life of me find a phone number listed on their website.
found a customer service email form but could not use it because you have to list your address and it dosnt accept canadian addresses.
got out my manual and found a email address on there for customer service.
sent in a email with pictures.
waited a couple days, got a email from gmail saying they where having a hard time delivering and would keep trying.
it tried 5 times over 5 days then finally gave up and emailed me back saying it was not possible.
so i got out the manual again and saw a 1-800 number and called it.
they answered right away and i told them the issue, they said no problem, asked for my mailing address and had a new cutter mailed out to me right there and then, no hassle.
i told the fella on the phone about the hassle trying to email them and use their 'contact us' function on the web site and he said that yes neither of those have been working for about 2 years now.....
long story short, call Frankford Arsenal, do not try to email or use the website.
learn from my pain, call them if you need to get anything replaced.
