The weather was great today , so I took the H&R M1 Garand out .
I set it up with a 4X Lyman All American on a modified B-Square mount and cut loose on 100yd targets , at a standing postion using PMC 150gr FMJ's.
The B-Square held up very well , I'm quite pleased with it's preformance.
... I had no doubts about the Lyman scope.
The only prob I had was my own forgetfulness and didn't bring the key for the Schuster gas plug , which of course , I had opened too much and the rifle had to be cycled by hand.
Otherwise I had a blast ;)

Do you have to drill and tap to install that scope mount? I actually took my Garand out hunting 3 times and couldn't get any deer because I just can't work with those peep sights in low light :(
If I could scope it though...

Never mind... I googled the B square and got the answer to my own question.
Who did you buy yours from?

Doesn't look like D&T to me, if you look at the pics close.

Those Garands are super fun!

I took three friends out shooting a month or so ago and between four guys and five rifles my M1 was definitely the favorite. The crazy part - the three best groups of the day were shot by three different guys using my Garand! I wouldn't have though it.

Speaking of the ...lol

Other than the obvious re-shaping , I filed the receiver tangs down so the rearsight can still be used , painted ( aluminum rim paint , then lightly heated up with a propane torch) to match the rifles metal colour and buffed to match the receiver's patina.
