Got this sequence in the summer. Do you think he tasted the cam or rubbed against it?

It took a few more pics over the next couple hours before it dried off.

I have a similar one. Only the bear chewed my trail cam and it ended on the ground. Some new plastic and it was up and running in no time. A couple of the LED's are still broken but the cam still works like a charm.

I did kill that bear.

That is why I have switched all my trail cams to 1 minute video mode now. Very different world when you see them in motion.

your lucky your trail camera still works.I had a bear put his claws right threw the IR lens then put just big enough bite holes in it so it would fill with water. I checked it a week later and the camera was ruined. Last pictures are of the bears open mouth.

Do Not Try spraying your camera with Bear Repellant!

It will become an attractant when used in that manner.

An Alaskan bush pilot sprayed his floats down and they were destroyed.

good point. Although it's usually only the 'inexperienced' that think bear spray works like bug spray...

Any strong smell will attract bears.

There are several stories of japanese tourists dousing themselves with bear spray before heading out to the woods..
