A few photos for yu'all.
Nuff of this ### chit talk.

I should of taken the new to me CZ 28 sxs, but this old Browning has been
hollar'in at me all winter.
So we blessed her in.
On the way up the hill, no more than 700 or 800 yards as the crow flies, this
black bruin was hiding behind a bunch of bushes. He noticed I was onto him
and he played circle the leaves on me, then hi tailed up the hill. Can these
big furs climb when they wish.

As the noon time came and went, the temperatures soared. The two hounds were panting up a storm. I was trying to make up my
mind to bring them home when I discovered a nice little moose swamp that the furs played in for a while.
On the way out, feathers...........whoooooooooot.
One came up and pewf, feathers. The two hounds didn't waste any time finding it. Then the Ooseydog was chasing her nose.
WTF? Brrrrrr brrrrrr, brrrrrrrr, brrrrrrr. She found the rest of the flock and one more was added to the pile. Up two.

Then back to the grind. Fur is pumped and panting again. So off to a lake on the way home. Seen a head sticking up.
Whoooooooot, more feathers. Out the two fur go. Brrrr Brrrrr Brrrrr Brrrrr......couple more for the pot.

Fur and feathers are fun.

Dad and his buddies had a real passion for chukars.
Tough on the hounds feet them cactuses.
Around here, they are the sort like barbed fish hooks.
I can recall the old GSP with a mouth full of barbs from pulling
them off his feet with his mouth.
Brutal.

Looks like great fun bud. Can't wait to try my hand at hunting feathers when I head up north, hopefully soon. Don't have a dog to help me yet but have plans for a Brittany in the Spring.

Sounds/looks like a great day! Better yet with your buddy!

I'm looking forward to grouse and woodcock as soon as the leaves start to drop. It will, hopefully, be a while yet.

A guy that I used to grouse and woodcock hunt with in Ontario told me that there were quail and chukar in BC, never knew that, thought they were only in the US. I got an offer to hunt chukar and quail with fellas that I know in Idaho and Utah any time I want to take the trip. I may get to do that now since I am switching jobs and heading west to work, going to cut into my bird hunting here.

Are you walking up the birds or are the dogs pointing them? Any waterfowling with the dogs?
