I was faily lucky that my first attempt at working up a load for my 308 has given fairly reasonable results. 45.5 grains of varget with 150 grain bullet,
7 shots out of 8 MOA and the the 8th at 1.1 inch. All measured on centres.

All charges are weighed.
What is the best way to go about improving this load? And to ensure consistancy.
Loads at 45 and 46 grains of Varget opened up the groups a fair bit.

Would I be wise to try increasing/decreasing charges by 2 tenths of a grain or would I be better to try altering bullet seating depth at this point. Eg. start making OAL 10 thou longer and work loads up towards the lands in this fashion.

The reason I ask about seating depth is that I seated the bullets to the same overall depth as the factory Winchester ammo. Sorry I Don't have my OAL data in front of me.

Sorry for the long winded explanation, hope I have explained what I'm trying to do clearly.

thanks.

oh and there were no signs of pressure at 46 grains.
