Hi Everyone!

I'm sure most of you have heard of the new FUSION cartridge. I have been told, that in several calibers (.308, .30-06, etc.) the Fusion has produced incredible groups on paper, even outperforming some people's handloads.

However, have any of you guys used the Fusion on game yet? Is it as good for hunting as it is on paper? Does it hold its weight as well as they claim it does? I work in a Hunting Store and people always ask me about the Fusion. I can tell them, it's very accurate for some people, but have not heard any feedback on its performance on game.

Thanks!
Carl

I just got a box for my 300win mag.

The stuff is pretty cheap about $30+tax.

The bullet is "fused" ie lead sticks to copper, yada yada....

Well anyhow, I think it is the same as a Speer Hot-Cor except that it is boat-tail also.

I shot paper with it, shoots well, under an inch off the bench at 100yds (i shoot a browning BBR bolt action, stock)

Performance on critters should be good, I recovered some slugs from wood blocks and they looked as mushroomed as the nosler accu-bonds, don't know if that makes any sense  but all i can say is go and try it.

For example in my rifle nosler accubonds 180 grain from federal premium will not do better than 1.75" 3 shot group. Go figure. So I shoot the cheap stuff, at least I know 200% where my aimed shots are going.

Cheers,

Alex

They look like standard-issue 'premium' bonded bullets to me....

My guess is that Federal wants a slice of the premium bullet pie--they're paying big $$$ to the bullet mfgs for every box of Federal premium produced (to Barnes, Nosler, etc.), and this makes the retail price high, cuts into their margin, AND it basically promotes the bullet manufacturers' brands over their own.

Look at the mid-90's when Intel got all the PC manufacturers to sell their chip brand, and it became more important than whether the PC was HP/Dell/Gateway/whatever: think the PC manufacturers or Intel got more out of that arrangement?

This would be like Dell getting into chip manufacturing, or McDonalds starting to produce their own refreshing Cola beverage ;-)
