Hey everybody,

I just wanted to know if rifles such as the Enfield (lets just say Mk. 4) or the Mosin Nagant/SKS will be available by the time i'm old enough to purchase one legally (in 4 years). I know that these are pretty common rifles, but the ones in better shape have seemingly been snatched up by the same people (collectors). Im not going to be looking for a brand new one, just one that will serve me well for as long as i'll need it.

How much more will they cost in the future? Will their still be a ready supply?

Thanks.

I appreciate your effort with spelling and grammar. Usually people your age type incomprehensibly.

The price of milsurps tend upwards most of the time. I imagine, however, with the vast quantity of Mosins and SKSs brought into the country that the price won't change much in 4 years. In terms of finding one - even if our beloved shops aren't having new ones in all the time - there will always be the Equipment Exchange on this very forum! Even those nasty collectors are always buying and selling so I have no doubts that there will be one with your name on it... for a reasonable price hopefully!

One of the things that will drive the price of common milsurps down is lack of ammunition. The MosinNagant is a good example. As the availability of cheap 7.62x54R diminishes, so does the value for many shooters.

The No4MkI rifles seem to buck this trend. Maybe because there is a ready supply of commercial ammo availabel. I can remember a time shortly after the milsurp ammo dried up, the rifles couldn't even be given away and got the nickname bumper jack handles. Things do come full circle.
