FX-9 1st gen, 2nd gen??

How does one determine which gen of FX a particular PCC is? LGS just got a bunch in and want to make sure they are the "latest and greatest" as it were. Also, what is the major differences between the various models?

On the Freedom Ordnance website you can input serial numbers to see what generation rifle it is. The differences are all internal - slightly different feed ramp, shorter bolt and different barrel/extension
The gen 2s have been out for a long time, if your LGS just got a shipment they'll be gen 2.

Thank you. I was assuming that they would be the latest version, but just wanted to be sure.

I think gen2 says Freedom Reigns on the mag release and they have the upgraded charging handles. Also you can check the serial number on the website if that's available to you.

Just my humble opinion...I have a gen2 and I still think the charging handle is small - I know someone who has a gen 1 and while the gen 2's "enhanced" charging handle is an improvement, it's not worlds better - my friend has since bought a custom one made by a CGN member here, and it is significantly bigger and much more comfortable to operate. I don't think it was cheap though...
