I took out two of the Fx-9 units and decided to test a number of mags to see how they work. The first thing though was to lube both guns up as they came bone dry. Remember lube is your friend
For the initial test we just loaded 5 rounds into each mag and shot them and recorded it there were any hangups and if the bolt held open on last shot.
The seven mags we were:
1. SGM (including mag) - both guns 5/5 good shots and both Held open.
2. PMGAG17 - This mag was the only single stack we had. Gun 1 went 5/5 but the bolt did not stay open, Gun 2 was 4/5 with a Fail to eject, but the bolt did stay open.
3. Amend2 (irunguns) - both guns went 5/5 and the bolt held open for each. One note here was these mags are pinned very tight for 10 rounds and we tried them at 10 rounds had seating issues when the bolt was closed.
4. KCI - both guns shot 5/5 and the bolt held open.
5. Glock G22 mag - both guns shot 5/5, gun 1 did not hold open, while gun 2 did.
6. 33 Fun Stick Korea - gun 1 4/5 with a fail to feed and no bolt hold open, gun 2 went 5/5 and had the bolt held open. This mag was the mag we expected issues with as a friend used I theirs and said it jammed every other shot.
7. 33 ETS Clear fun stick - Both guns held open on the last round. Gun 1 was 5/5 but gun 2 was 4/5. On this failure we learned about having to "morter" an AR.
That's where we ended on our official recording. We had a few extra rounds and loaded a few mags up to full 10 rounds and made them go bang. 1 of those mags had 10 rounds of blazer aluminum cased rounds and went 10/10 all good. The ETS was just fine and shot perfect after the 1 failure mentioned above.
If I can find some other Glock mags I will be happy to test and add them. We compared the Amend 2 mags and how they were pinned to the other double stack mags and they are pinned higher and are probably limited to being a 9 round mag as that 10th round is hard to get in. Very disappointed as we snagged 10 of these from irunguns.
