Hey Folks,

I recently bought an FX Crown synthetic stock from AGS. I'm trying to develop the best diet for it and have bought 7 different types and brands of pellets. They range in weight from 11.75 grains to 25.39 grains.

Just wondering what others who may own an FX Crown are finding best. I bought the FAC version and intend to use it on maximum power but I'm a bit disappointed with groups. I base that on shooting my Air Arms FAC S410 that was deadly accurate well beyond 80 meters. The FX Crown at 25 meters it is a tack driver but same pellet out to 50 meters has flyers and out beyond that the groups end up off to one side or other, not simply an elevation issue. Obviously heavier pellets have rainbow trajectory but it seems the 18 grain domes shoot best. The FX is a bit noisier also but it isn't such a big deal.

Just curious what others are finding best and advice on adjusting the power on the dial which I have not played with yet.

I have got my best accuracy in my Crown at 50 yd. with the JSB 18 gr. pellets as well. Rifle set to MAX-177/22-Reg. 129 (851 fps)
I tried H&N Barracuda pellets with both the A & B liners but accuracy was not as good as the JSB 18 in the A liner.
Nice thing is, there is no end to the testing you can do with a Crown.

HI,

My apologies for not replying sooner. Just lost this post until now. I'm shooting from the magazine and I have not chromo'd it as currently don't have access to one. I will contemplating playing around with the adjustment settings but don't fully understand it and really should have a chronological to understand the performance vs the velocity at any given pellet weight and brand. I was being lazy and hoping someone has figured this out as the possibilities are endless. I bought a whole selection of different pellets in different weights from 14 to 28 grains and i think I need to focus on a brand and weight and see how best it shoots, then compare to another. Currently rattling through the selection without chronology or testing different power adjustment settings is providing inconsistent results.
