I was looking for a airgun and tripped on the FX style airguns. Google lead to several reviews all good.

Does anyone have any experience with these? They are not cheap @ $2,500 + taxes for the Verminator and $1,600 ish for the Royale.

Looking for a tack driver, and my experience is spend the extra buy something nice, but open to alternatives.

Ted's holdover has a lot of interesting reviews as well.

Although FX makes very nice airguns you may want to look at the Air Arms lineup as well as the Hammerli AR20. They offer excellent accuracy for the money spent. My personal favorite at the moment, and the one I use in Field Target competition is the Rapid Air Weapons TM1000. Shooting off a bench it will put the pellets through the same hole all day long ! it's still way more accurate than I am when shooting off-hand.

Thanks appreciate the info. Too many "toys" to choose from, lots of very nice hi-end equipment available.

You've likely decided by now, but if still looking check out Daystate's line of PCP guns. I have the Mk4 IS and it's amazingly accurate, plus great shot count. Mine's a .22 and currently sited in at 50 yards for pest control and just using the the low power setting.
