My fx9 is having issues failing to feed rounds in. Serial #59###. Probably 400 rds and maybe 40 failure to feed. Using both g17 mags and pmags with pmc, white box winchester, cci blazer and a.e federal all 115gr. It's been cleaned and oiled pretty well after every use. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've read on here that maybe a buffer tube upgrade will help. I just want it to be reliable

I just want it to be reliable

Then you picked wrong platform. Fx9 is hit and miss with QC and/or manufacturing. Some of them work just fine out of the box, other not so much. A lot of complains for reliability. I had to sent mine for warranty service, so far so good. Heavier buffer would help slowing down the cycle time, and actually should slow down the feeding as well, which could make it worse. But who knows , maybe yours wants to have slower feeding.

Early gen 1s didn't come with the end of the bolt chamfered, which caused alot of feeding and ejection failures. There are posts online on how to disassemble the bolt to check. But your serial # is fairly high so I'd guess your bolt is already chamfered. If it isn't there were posts on how to DIY with a file.
My gen 1 had the same issues as you, and changing to a much heavier 6oz buffer cured it instantly. I saw 2-3 failures per mag over the first 100 rounds, and was in the CSC indoor range at the time. Walked into their store, bought a heavy buffer, changed it right there in the range and put 200 more rounds downrange without another failure. IMO it's well worth trying if you're jamming constantly.
Some guys have added 3-6 quarters into the end of the buffer tube to reduce stroke, with mixed results. I put a longer 308 rifle spring in mine, after swapping buffer weights. It didn't hurt anything but I'm not sure if it did anything to help.
You may also see improvement by polishing the feed ramps as well.
Hope that helps

I'm thinking about sending it it but I'm not sure they'd be able to do anything. I'm probably going to try a new buffer spring cause it's relatively cheap.

Should have bought a B&T lol

It wouldn't hurt. I sent mine in to fix two issues: 1. last round bolt hold open consistently not working and 2. bolt catch/release goes off by itself. Wolverine fixed both issues and I am quite happy I used my warranty, and I am very happy with the post sales support work. I personally would just send it in rather than try to fix the problems myself. Even if I knew how to fix the problems, it would help the manufacturer to see customers reporting this stuff - it may help them to improve their products going forward to mitigate these issues for future buyers.

Mine runs well with a 11ox buffer. I had bulged vases to the point where I also experienced two out of battery ignitions which blew out the case. IMHO the buffer isd too light. I hate to admit it but te gun can be free of glitches or just plain be a dud. My Ruger runs flawlessly OFTB. I really like my FX9 and usewd it a couople of weeks ago using a 10" upper. The gun ran like a sewing machine...me not so much. LOL

The FX9 is exceptionally accurate. I think it is worth the price. I hope mine continues to run like it has. There are other PCC's worth looking at eg the Kodiac if they gain a decent reputation for accuracy and build quality, anf the new S&W offering,

Send the gun in for warranty Wolverine has a very good record for their warranty work on these guns.

Take Care

Bob
